Behind the scenes footage of Lil Wayne’s new video, “God Bless Amerika”, has sparked some outrage … because he’s shown dancing on the U.S. flag. In the above clip, which is shot in New Orleans, the hip-hop star begins rapping in front of a giant American flag, which is released to the ground… and he continues performing while stepping all over the stars and stripes.

On the Cool & Dre-produced song, which appears on this year’s I Am Not A Human Being II, Wayne raps likes lyrics like “the stars on the flag are never shinin’.”

In the United States Flag Code, it is stated that the flag should never touch the ground, as well as “the flag should never be stepped on.” While the code is federal law, there is no legal penalty for failure to comply.
