Patrick Ewing Lands Assistant Coaching Job For Charlotte Bobcats

Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing has reportedly reached an agreement to become the associate head coach for the Charlotte Bobcats, reports Yahoo! Sports.

The former Knicks superstar will join the coaching staff of new Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford with whom he's had a strong professional and personal history together.

Before sitting out the 2012-13 season, Ewing had worked eight seasons as an NBA assistant coach, including stints with Orlando (2008-12) and Houston (2003-08). He was an assistant on each staff with Clifford.

He also previously interviewed for the Bobcats' head-coaching job in 2012, but ultimately, Mike Dunlap was hired. Ewing also interviewed for the Detroit Pistons' head-coaching job in 2011.
