Former Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, Shyheim, was arrested in Staten Island last week, after a raid on his apartment turned up guns and drugs.
According to SILive.com, police raided the rapper’s apartment on Friday (April 19) at around 6:15 am to serve a search warrant, and found a .32-caliber revolver in a sock under his mattress, five rounds of ammo, and drugs and paraphernalia — including 41 glassines of heroin in a safe under his bed, a Xanax pill in a plastic zipper bag on his bedside table, and a scale alongside empty bags and glassines under his bed.
The 35-year-old Shyheim was arrested on felony gun and drug charges.
Shyheim, who has performed under the name Manchild, is a Wu-Tang Clan affiliate who put out his first album in 1994, titled AKA The Rugged Child. He would go on to work with the likes of RZA and Tupac Shakur, and he shared the stage at Madison Square Garden with The Notorious B.I.G.
His career would later dwindle, and in 2001, he was arrested and later convicted of second-degree attempted robbery. He would be sentenced to two years in state prison… and apparently, has had legal problems ever since.
Shyheim was was arraigned on Saturday (April 20) on several felony and misdemeanor charges, including second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to information from District Attorney Daniel Donovan’s office.
As of Monday night (April 22), he remained in Rikers Island, held on $10,000 bail.
