When it comes to getting money in hip-hop, nobody does it better than Diddy, which is why he tops Forbes’ 2013 “Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists” list.

The Bad Boy mogul ranks #1 on this year’s Forbes Five, it’s annual list of hip-hop’s wealthiest artists, with an estimated net worth of $580 million, beating out the likes of Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Birdman, and 50 Cent — all of whom land in the rankings.

Despite being known as a mogul in hip-hop, the bulk of Diddy’s fortune comes from non-musical ventures, including his deal with Diageo’s Ciroc.

At #2 is Jay-Z, who holds a net worth of $475 million. His wealth comes from the $204 million sale of Rocawear in 2007, $150 million deal with Live Nation, plus stakes in Roc Nation, Carol’s Daughter, the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, and D’ussé Cognac.

Dr. Dre holds down the #3 spot, despite not dropping an album in 14 years. He comes in third with $350 million, up $80 million from last year, thanks mostly to his Beats by Dre empire.

Cash Money Records founder, Bryan “Birdman” Williams, lands at #4 with $150 million from his YMCMB empire, which includes superstars such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne, as well as the YMCMB clothing line, and GT Vodka.

Finally, at #5, is 50 Cent with $125 million. The G-Unit mogul’s brand continues to grow with music, merchandise, video games, and books, as well as his SMS Audio headphones line, his leap into boxing promotions and more. In 2007, he sold his stake in VitaminWater to Coca-Cola for a hefty payday.
