New Orleans rapper Chopper Young City was arrested in Las Vegas last week on an outstanding warrant in his hometown.
According to NOLA.com, the rapper (real name: Kevin Barnes) — best known as a member of Diddy’s Da Band from MTV’s “Making the Band 2” — was picked up on March 19th after LVPD responded to a call for a fight.
While he was not charged in Vegas, local police are holding the rapper as he awaits extradition to New Orleans on warrants for extortion and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Details on those crimes were not immediately available. However, they reportedly stem from an incident from September 2012. He also faces a simple battery allegation from a separate incident that same month.
As of press time, it’s still up in the air as to whether Chopper will be extradicted or not. Thus far, neither the New Orleans Police Department nor the District Attorney’s office has made a move to bring the rapper home.
