The Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly interested in acquiring Kevin Garnett from the Boston Celtics.
According to ESPN.com, the teams talked about a possible deal for the star big man before the Celtics’ win over the Clippers, 106-104, on Sunday (February 3).
As of right now, it’s only talks, but the potential deal would also involve the Clippers’ Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler, the network reports, citing anonymous sources.
Although the Clippers have had one helluva season, they’ve lost 6 of their last 8 games; and have been trying to weather the storm caused by injuries to guards Chauncey Billups, Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford.
However, there’s some issues that could stop the deal. Garnett, 36, has two years and $23.5 million left on his contract after this season. He also has a no-trade clause, so he will have to waive this for the trade to happen.
The trade deadline is February 21.
