Nas is getting hit hard by the State of Georgia over unpaid taxes.
According to TMZ.com, the IRS has given the state the green light to garnish the rapper’s (real name: Nasir Jones) earnings to pay a tax debt upwards of $1 million.
The Georgia Department of Revenue (GDR) has reportedly filed legal docs, claiming that they’ve been unable to collect $1,083,435 from Nas, which they say he owes for the years 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010.
In the docs, it’s also revealed that the GDR obtained an order that forces Live Nation, the promoters behind Nas’ tour with Lauryn Hill, to garnish his wages until the debt is satisfied.
TMZ says Nas also owes millions in unpaid taxes to the Feds as well.
A rep for the rapper claims the matter has been settled, but the GDR insists the case is still open and they’re trying to collect.
