Did Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph and Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins get into an altercation after being ejected during their game on Wednesday evening (November 14) following an on-court argument?

While Russell Westbrook was shooting free throws, both players were mouthing off to each other. Perkins told Randolph to meet him “by the bus,” while ZBo screamed, “I’ll beat your ass.” Then, they were ejected by the referee before the argument escalated any further … at least, on the court.

But, word is, it did, in the locker rooms. Various reports said the players got into it in a hallway near the locker rooms.

According to The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Randolph and Perkins “tried to get to each other but security prevented (a) physical altercation.” The paper quoted a witness who called it “playground stupid.”

The Oklahoman, however, reported that a police captain in the building said that “an altercation did not take place and there is no investigation underway,” but the league office confirmed Thursday (November 15) that it is conducting its own investigation.

Both players were ejected by referee Ken Mauer with 2:05 remaining in the game after an apparent Perkins elbow and a subsequent exchange of words.
