Light Nightclub, turned by Cirque du Soleil

The Light Group, in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and MGM Resorts International, is slated to bring back the infamous LIGHT nightclub at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay in March 2013.

LIGHT helped change the landscape of Las Vegas nightclub more than a decade ago, and was the first-ever nightclub turned on by Cirque du Soleil. Now, they are finally returning.

According to a press release, the club merges “cutting-edge creativity with incredible music to produce a new kind of nightlife experience.” It will be held in a fashion-forward 38,000-square-foot venue, featuring state-of-the-art production, theatrics, and, of course, world-renowned DJs and performers.

“The nightclub will serve as a laboratory, very much like our special events and projects have done in the past, for different and new artistic possibilities,” said Guy Laliberté, Founder of Cirque du Soleil.

Spearheading LIGHT is The Light Group founder Andrew Sasson, who has been intimately involved with each detail of the venture.

“This partnership and the projects we are working on will be unlike anything the world has ever seen before — the ultimate theatrical nightlife venue,” said Sasson. “Cirque du Soleil has built a brand with worldwide recognition and their creativity, attention to detail and passion for their work perfectly complement The Light Group and everything we stand for.”

A rep for the venture said LIGHT already has a list of DJs and performers on board that “rivals some of the world’s biggest festival line-ups”.
