This past summer, Jordan Brand released several packs to commemorate each stop the USA Basketball Team would make en route to the gold Medal game in the 2012 London Olympics.
Their first stop, Las Vegas, warranted a silky smooth and classy release, dubbed the Gold “Las Vegas” pack. The brand released a black, white and red colorway of the Air Jordan 1, and the Superfly.
This timeless classic held the usual color, blocking with white and black with red laces, and gold hits on the Wings’ Logo and tongue Jumpman with a Vegas-inspired print on the lining. Premium grade leather was also used on the upper, a step up from the past Jordan 1 releases. The performance beast on the other hand, the Air Jordan Superfly, came in a clean grey synthetic upper and black phylon midsole. The toe is a bit special with that pearlescent finish, while gold takes care of the Jumpan on the heel and part of the beathable mesh tongue. The same, Las Vegas performer-inspired print is seen on the lining and the colorway is finished off with a clean white rubber outsole.
Players like, Kobe Bryant wore the Jordan 1 RTTG Las Vegas while travelling and were caught with pictures in the airport going to Barcelona.
How did you guys like the classic, white and black suit and tie-inspired pack? Was the print on the lining a nice touch or a bit overboard? How did they compare to the Barcelona Pack and the Washington Pack? Let us know!
