NFL legend Warren Sapp filed for bankruptcy back in April… and months later, he finally gets a break, after a judge wiped a massive chunk of his debt away.
The 39-year-old former NFL defensive star filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in April, claiming he owed more than $6.7 million to various creditors, while having just $6.45 million to his name… in assets (which included 240 Air Jordans, a lion skin rug, and a boxing glove signed by Muhammad Ali).
According to TMZ.com, a Florida judge has cleared him of a huge amount of his debt and discharged him from bankruptcy on September 24.
However, Sapp isn’t getting away completely scot-free. He’s still on the hook for hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax debt, child support and alimony — all of which was NOT covered by his Chapter 7 filing.
