It’s been a minute since Philly rapper Cassidy was on top the rap game, enjoying success with hit singles like 2003’s “Hotel” featuring R. Kelly and 2005’s Jay-Z sampled “I’m A Hustla.” While some of the public may have thought he fell off, the rapper actually endured some hardships, which put his career on hold. But, he’s back.
Following a pair of major career setbacks, Cassidy is determined to reach the level attained years ago, but on his own terms.
In a recent interview with ThisIs50.com, the rapper explains how his 2005 murder trial and serious car accident a year later stalled his career right at its peak, how he recovered after suffering from amnesia, and what regrets he has, if any.
Cassidy dropped a new mixtape in July with DJ Thoro, titled Mayhem Music: AP 3. If you haven’t yet, it’s available for download at DatPiff.com.
