UPDATE: Game confirmed the rumors Friday afternoon (July 19), via Twitter (@TheGame), explaining that it’s his fault things fell apart while apologizing to everyone for the cancellation.
“The rumors are TRUE. The wedding is OFF. It’s not her fault, it’s mine ! She’s a GREAT woman, I just wasn’t man enough 2 see it through,” he wrote. “Important message to all men: If you’re lucky to have 1/2 of the woman I had… Appreciate her & do everything necessary to keep her happy!
“I am truly sorry & apologetic to my family, friends & EVERYONE that this has affected & inconvenienced,” Game continued. “Not everyone has a happy ending.”
Just days after news surfaced that Game would show the world his journey down the aisle via reality show centered around his wedding to fiancée Tiffney Cambridge, it looks like the relationship has fallen apart.
According to XXLMag.com, the rapper’s wedding has been called off with just over a week to go before the big day.
The mag cites an unconfirmed website that claims to be the official wedding site for the Game and Cambridge, which features a message that reads: “We regret to inform you that the wedding of Tiffney Cambridge & Jayceon Taylor has been cancelled.”
While Game’s camp has yet to confirm the reports, the rapper seemed to hint at the situation in recent tweets.
“When LIFE throws you lemons… Squeeze em’ & mix em with Patron,” Game tweeted (@TheGame) on Tuesday (July 17).
A day later, on Wednesday (July 18), he followed with: “Time is the only thing you can’t get back. Use it wisely & understand that once a decision is made… There is NO reversing that moment.”
The cancellation news comes after Game told Sister 2 Sister magazine that he’d spent $500,000 on the wedding thus far. A source told the mag that the couple “just didn’t get along” and that “it just didn’t work out.”
Game proposed to his longtime girlfriend in front of MTV cameras last October, surprising her at her teaching job at a Los Angeles elementary school.
