DJ Muggs Discusses Vinyl & His Massive Record Collection (Video)

As part of their online Crate Diggers series, catches up with the legendary DJ MUggs at his Los Angeles studis to talk about his love for records ... and how digging is/was essential to his career.

In the nearly 10-minute clip, Muggs talks about how he's stacked up nearly 10-15K record collection over the years, and how it all started with his earliest musical experiences from his mom and uncle -- from Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, before getting his first taste of hip-hop through Public Enemy, RUN-DMC and LL Cool J.

During the interview, he goes through some of his collection, pulling out key records and recalls why he got each specific record and its influence on him. Muggs also explains how his evolution in producing, helped him expand his knowledge music of all genres, from blues to reggae.
