As projected, Linkin Park debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week with their brand new album, Living Things, beating out new LPs from Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group and R&B vet R. Kelly.
Linkin Park’s LP enters with 223,000 sold, pushing out Maroon 5 who came in at #2 with just over 1,000 less in numbers.
Last week’s #1 album, Justin Bieber’s Believe, falls to #3 with 115,000.
Making its debut at #4 is Maybach Music’s new compilation, Self Made 2, starting with 98,000 sold in its first week. The first Self Made set arrived almost a year ago, and bowed at #5 with 59,000. The sequel features Wale’s current top 20 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs hit “Bag of Money,” featuring Ross, along with Meek Mill and T-Pain.
Coming in behind Self Made 2 is R. Kelly at #5 with his latest album, Write Me Back, selling 68,000 to star. It’s his 14th top 10 album and follows 2011’s Love Letter, which launched at #6 with 154,000. The LP is also Kelly’s first studio album to selling less than 100,000 during its first week since his solo debut, 1993’s 12 Play, which opened with 44,000.
Later, Usher’s Looking 4 Myself slides from #6 to #9 with 36,000.
