Manny Pacquaio will face undefeated Light Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on June 9th … so HBO documents both fighters on their road to anticipated bout via their special series, “24/7.”
Here’s the intro into the Pacquiao/Bradley special, which is slated to premiere on Saturday (May 26).
In the nearly 30-minute clip, the network gives us some background on young boxing star Timothy Bradley, detailing his journey into boxing, which began on the north end (impoverished area) of prestigious California city, Palm Springs, to his trouble-making adolescence, which eventually landed him in the gym where he was introduced to boxing.
It also shows Bradley’s home life, his family (wife, two step-children and a daughter) — which helps motivate him for greatness — and his grueling training sessions.
On the other end, Pacquiao’s part of the episode starts in his hometown of General Santos, Philippines, where he’s yet to begin training. He reflects on his last fight, and how he underestimated Juan Manual Marquez, but promises it won’t happen again.
The Filipino boxing star also addresses rumors of issues within his marriage. Pac-Man talks about how he’s re-focused himself, both spiritually and physically. He’s given up drinking, women, and gambling … as well as the temptations he’s faced as he’s become an international star.
“24/7 Pacquiao/Bradley, Episode 1” airs Saturday (May 26) at 9:30PM ET. For more information, visit HBO.com/Boxing.
