2 Chainz2 Chainz made headlines on Tuesday (May 22) for an arrest at New York's LaGuardia Airport for allegedly trying to bring brass knuckles through security.

As we first revealed, those brass knuckles were nothing more than a four-finger ring, which the Georgia rapper has confirmed with MTV News. 2 Chainz has since made his way to North Carolina, after boarding a private jet, and everything has been worked out ... some what.

"They tried to assassinate my character, they tried to assassinate my swag," the rapper told MTV via a phone interview. "It was just a negative dilemma earlier where someone misconstrued a piece of jewelry for a weapon and stuff."

The rapper was taken into custody around 1:45 p.m. ET and charged him with misdemeanor possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He tells MTV that he sat in jail for nearly nine hours before pleading guilty a lesser, unspecified charge, but says he never got his jewelry back.

"Yeah, they took it from me, they took the Louis [Vuitton] case that I actually keep the jewelry in, they took that. I couldn't believe it," 2 Chainz said. "Me just trying to explain it was getting too frustrating, me just trying to explain my occupation and then when they finally got to the jail and everybody knew who I was, then they started calling their kids and putting me on the phone with their kids. It was like a weird experience.

"I do exclusive pieces. My pieces are actual conversation pieces, like, literally. When you see my gold, when you see my stuff, it's something to conversate about," he added. "People weren't doing four-finger rings and all that. I just like to set myself apart, so I definitely wasn't trying to beat nobody up on the airplane or nothing."

Despite the frustrating situation, 2 Chainz chooses to stay positive. He's set to release his solo debut, Based on a T.R.U. Story, on August 14th; and is currently on tour with Drake.
