Jay-Z appeared in Philadelphia on Monday (May 14) for a big announcement: a two-day festival going down this fall.
Appearing in front of media at the Philadelphia Art Museum, with Mayor Nutter standing by his side, the hip-hop mogul revealed plans for a two-day festival called the “Budweiser Made In America” festival.
It will go down from September 1-2 at Philly’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Fairmount Park; and will feature 28 musical acts with all proceeds helping the community.
Jay-Z will act as headliner, while other performers have yet to be announced. But, reports say it will includes acts from all genres, including hip-hop, rock, R&B, Latin and dance performers.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit United Way Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
In a press release, Jay said he’s excited to assist United Way because of its community efforts and he hopes to showcase the many genres of music with the live performances.
Tickets for the “Budweiser Made In America” Festival go on sale May 23rd.
