Headwear giant New Era has various relationships with major brands. Aside from the NFL, NBA, and MLB, the company also holds licenses with film studios such as Marvel, and is currently rolling out a series of collections to coincide with the releases of their summer blockbusters such as “The Amazing Spider-Man,” and “The Avengers,” as well as G.I. Joe.
In anticipation of “The Avengers”, which hits theaters beginning May 4, New Era recently released a series of caps featuring designs centered around the film and its characters. Dubbed The Avengers Collection, it boasts at least eight different styles, including individual characters such as the Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America, as well as the full team, and even the Avengers logo.
“It’s a really cool part of our business to work closely with the comic community to bring to life different caps through summer releases, special comic drops, Comic Con, different things like that. It’s kinda of a cool way for us to further extend our brand,” New Era’s Corporate Communications Manager Katherine Kulczyk tells us.
The collection is available in all the brand’s silhouettes, including the 59FIFTY (fitted), the 39THIRTY (stretch fit), and the 9FIFTY (snapback). They are available now at New Era flagships (depending on availability), and online at NewEraCap.com.
Additionally, New Era plans to roll out collections for both “The Amazing Spider-Man” (July) and “G.I. Joe” (June) films, each coming about a month before each movie hits theaters. The collections will consist of 4-10 caps, some being limited than others.
“There’s four to upwards of 10 per collection, so there’s a whole variety for everyone. If its a 59FIFTY, a snapback, or if you like a certain character, there’s probably a cap to meet your needs,” said Kulczyk.
