It was a slow week on the Billboard 200 for hip-hop. UK group One Direction tops the charts, and Adele and Bruce Springsteen hold down the top few slots. However, Drake and Tyga continue to move units, while Tech N9ne makes an impact in the top 20 with his latest EP.
Drake’s Take Care landed at #7 this week, selling another 36,000 copies, and putting its total at just over 1.6 million to date.
Tyga’s sophomore set, Careless World: Rise Of The Last King , climbed two spots this week to #12. It sold 20,000 copies, putting its four-week total at 141,000; and Rihanna’s Talk That Talk climbed from #17 to #13 this week.
Further down, at #15, is Tech N9ne’s latest release, the Klusterfuk EP. The project sold 17,000 to start. The six-song digital release is fully produced by Mayday, and features Strange Music artists Krizz Kaliko and Mayday’s Wrekonize. Next up, the Kansas City rap king hits the road with MGK for his “Hostile Takeover 2012” tour.
That wraps things up this week. To cop any of these new releases, head over to Amazon.com.
