Hawaii-based In4mation has teamed up with long-standing skate/action sports brand Matix for a joint collection, dubbed the “Capital Collection,” created as a tribute to the hard work and adaptation of the Hawaiian people and its culture.
As stated by In4mation, “a large mixture of cultures and races became the first plantation workers imported to Hawaii to work in the sugar fields in the early 1990s. And, with them, they brought their culture and religion which was also learned by the rest of the minority groups.
“After generations of hardship the Hawaiians endured, the people and the culture have emerged as a singular harmonious culture. The Hawaiian people still endure ‘The Plantation mentality’, where the meaning of hard work, sharing, having a open mind, and family life is still passed on after generations of our people to look out for one another, respect the elders and locals of the area.”
With this in mind, the brand’s pay tribute via the new collection. Above is a preview of some of the collection’s pieces, filmed around the brand’s native country. It features collaborative headwear, zip-up hoodies, denim, cut-n-sew, graphic tees, and shorts.
