Fresh off landing XXL’s 2012 Freshman Class honor, Los Angeles rapper Hopsin unleashed his long awaited single “Hop Madness” this week, off his upcoming Knock Madness album… and now gives fans the video.
In the self-directed clip, Hopsin welcomes everyone to his world, which is translated visually as a wild carnival with the rapper playing host … and all types of crazy sh** goes down. From capping an attendee while trying to shoot an apple off his head, to disguising himself as the janitor, Hopsin gives the world a glimpse into his ill mind.
In the son, he raps about his rise in the hip-hop game thus far, and how it’s brought a lot of d*** riders his way … some of which even includes rappers. At one point, Hopsin pokes fun at Compton rapper The Game, who utilized Hop’s trademark white contacts for his “Martians Vs. Goblins” music video.
“For the record, I ain’t the type to share / If you a rapper, taking my image, then war’s what I might declare / Just cuz I’m buzzing off the white contacts, don’t mean you should take your ass to Hot Topic to buy a pair,” Hopsin raps.
He even dresses up like Game, down to the crewneck sweater he rocked that said “B!#CH I’M A… MOTHER’F#!%’N MARTIAN.” But, Hopin’s reads “B!#CH I’M A… MOTHER’F#!%’N HOPSIN.”
At press time, there was no release date for Hopsin’s upcoming Knock Madness album.
