Under the tutelage of Texas rap vets Slim Thug and Paul Wall, Houston newcomer Marcus Manchild has been making a name for himself, dropping a slew of material online, such as mixtapes, single track leaks, and videos.
To start of 2012, the young rapper unleashes his latest mixtape, Space Jams 2, consisting of all new music, such as his new single, “Problems” featuring Bun B; as well as freestyles, some of which showcase the rapper spitting over classic and new instrumentals.
In a recent interview with MTV’s Mixtape Daily, Marcus dished on how it felt to have hometown stars like Slim Thug and Paul helping guide him through the industry.
“It’s a blessing. Just having them around, guiding me, what to expect and what not to do, how not to mess up in this game. It’s surreal,” the rapper said. “You can’t ask for nothing more than legends that’s in your city that really did something, that actually ventured off out of your city and made a name for themselves and actually are known worldwide and they’re here helping you out. It’s a great feeling.”
“It’s just like family, man, we just want to see him shine and keep the Houston movement going, man. That’s it,” Slim added.
Aside from the new mixtape, Manchild is also prepping the release of an upcoming project, titled Free Your Mind Music. At press time, there was no release date. Get it at Datpiff.com.
