Kobe Bryant hit #5 on the NBA all-time scoring list earlier this month, and now, another superstar in the league enters the list at #20.
The Dallas Mavericks’ German superstar Dirk Nowitzki Nowitzki moved into 20th on the list Monday night (February 20) with seven points in the first quarter in his team’s game against Boston.
It gave him 23,335 points, one more than Hall of Famer Robert Parish had in 21 seasons. Right above him, at #19, is Boston’s Kevin Garnett (23,719), who missed Monday’s game for personal reasons.
Nowitzki has played all 14 of his NBA seasons in Dallas, after being selected with the 9th overall pick of the 1998 NBA Draft. He also had his 1,000th career block in the first quarter.
Nowitzki’s teammate, Jason Kidd, also hit milestore during the game, recording his 2,515th career steal, putting him at #2 on the all-time steals list surpassing Michael Jordan. Utah Jazz legend John Stockton is the leader in the category with with 3,265.
