Lil B, David Banner Squash Beef After Issues Over ‘Swag’

David Banner and Lil B

David Banner and Lil BDavid Banner ruffled some feathers last September, when he dropped the controversial track/music video for “Swag.” In it, the Mississippi rapper went after a generation of young rappers who lack substance in the music … but instead, credit “swag” as their appeal.

From the visual and lyrics, it appeared that Banner was taking aim at Kreayshawn, Odd Future, and Lil B.

The Based God took offense the most, releasing a response track/video called “I Own Swag,” over the same David Banner instrumental.

On it, Lil B proclaims: “This is what you should’ve done on this beat motherf***er… Like I said, any rap motherf***ers got a problem, let’s go. this that real WorldstarHipHop sh**. I’m taking over.”

This was days ago, and now, the issue has been resolved. As stated by Lil B, via Twitter (@LilBTheBasedGod) on Tuesday (February 7), he and Banner had a phone conversation and discussed squashed any beef that may have been brewing.

“Just got off the phone with @TheRealBanner and real talk, I learned a lot and just no I rocks with Banner off top and we got swag,” Lil B wrote, adding, “I no my place as a young artist in the game I respect the artist that put work in @TheRealBanner so its love hip-hop unity love.

“All the #based salute to Banner lets stop the negativity and such I didn’t diss him stay positive and keep it #based,” he concluded.

David Banner did not comment on the situation. At least, on Twitter.

Lil B’s “I Own Swag” is a track off his upcoming God’s Father mixtape, coming soon.
