CTE signee Freddie Gibbs dropped a collaborative EP with producer Madlib late last year, via Stones Throw. Now, the rapper unleashes its first visual for its single, “Thuggin.”
The Indiana-bred rapper shows that he’s very much connected to the streets, despite his buzzing rap career in the Jonah Schwartz-directed clip.
The video begins with Gibbs meeting up with one of his homies, before heading off into the night — rocking ski-masks — to jack a local drug dealer. After getting the product, they cook it up and put his ladies on the block to serve the fiends.
To ensure his protection, he later cops some artillery, before heading home where he hops into the booth in his small apartment to knock out some music. Why? Because he’s thugginnnn’
