Queen Latifah is a powerhouse on the big screen, but she’s planning to take her talents to daytime television with an upcoming talk show.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Latifah announced Monday (October 31) that she’s teamed up with Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony to produce a snydicated talk show with her acting as the shot.
Flavor Unit co-founder Shakim Compere and Overbrook’s Miguel Melendez will serve as executive producers alongside Overbrook trio, James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith.
“We share a common vision and have been wanting to collaborate for quite some time,” Compere told THR.
“We have known and admired Latifah for over 20 years: dating back to our music days, to her first television role on ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ and years alter when she worked with Jada on the film, ‘Set it Off,’ ” added Melendez.
Latifah hosted a talk show back in 1999 called “Queen Latifah Show.” It lasted for two seasons.
