Two weekends ago, NBA superstar Derrick Rose gave fans in Chicago a chance to watch and even play hoops with him, as part of his “Run with D Rose” campaign on the Adidas Basketball Facebook page.
Celebrating the launch of his second signature shoe, the adiZero Rose 2, the Bulls guard (along with Adidas) set up a game in the Chi and asked fans to join. Select fans were chose to come in the gym to watch Rose play others fans in a little game of hoops.
Hometown rapper Common treated them to a freestyle rap also during the day. This video shows a little fun from the day.
To continue the Chi-Town love, Adidas will drop a “Triple Black” version of the adiZero Rose 2 (seen below) on November 10 at Foot Locker, Eastbay and ShopAdidas.com. The shoe features thick, sturdy materials to represent the outdoor courts and street style of Derrick’s home turf of Murray Park in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. It has a rough, pumice finish to rep the concrete and asphalt courts, as well as D-Rose’s explosive play.
