MC Hammer Reveals Plans To Launch New Search Engine, WireDoo

MC Hammer

MC HammerMC Hammer has been praised for embracing the technology world in recent years … and hopes to break into the industry further with his newest venture: a search engine focused on “deep search ” and relational topics.

Dubbed WireDoo, the former rap star helped announce plans to launch the new search engine during the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco this week.

“We’re always thinking about how can we solve problems, how can we improve user experience. And, the idea here was, how would we be able to improve search…” Hammer explained. “What came out of it was this relationship-driven searches. Searches that go beyond just the generalities, that give you more relative information in a consistent way in one environment.”

As he continued explaining the upcoming venture, Hammer gave further insight into WireDoo, saying that a search for a car (for example) would not only turn up vehicle itself, but also its mode and mileag;, just as a home search carries relations of surrounding schools and neighborhood, among other things.

“It’s about relationships beyond just the keywords,” Hammer stated.

The site is currently in pre-beta stage, but the plan is to launch in December. Visit to sign-up for a BETA test drive.
