With the Black Eyed Peas on an extended break, each member has their own things going on. Frontman, Will.i.am, has been doing periodic DJ sets … and recently revealed an upcoming gig to ring in the New Year.
On New Year’s Eve, the rapper/producer will perform his first-ever year’s end bash, when he serves as the DJ for partygoers at the Surrender Nightclub in Las Vegas.
“Will.i.am is the ultimate renaissance man,” said Sean Christie, Surrender’s co-owner and managing partner. “From his musical accomplishments and creative endeavors to his contributions to humanitarian, educational, and political causes, he is a fascinating pop culture figure who draws in fans by the droves. We are thrilled to have him lead our biggest party of the year.”
Tickets for the event are $150 for men and $50 for ladies; and admission includes a two-hour open bar.
Will.i.am. previously DJ’ed at the venue during Labor Day Weekend, during which he explained how rocking a party his different from being onstage.
“I don’t like to look at this as a performance,” he said. “I like to look at this as a conversation — making a beat and seeing how people react. I like to stay on my toes and see how it goes.”
