Brooklyn rapper Maino has had a rough life. He served time in prison, before being released and deciding to turn his life around as a rapper. Finally, in 2008, when his single “Hi Hater” took off, helping him launch his 2009 major label debut, If Tomorrow Comes….

Now, as he gears up for his sophomore album, the rapper continues to drop new music. His latest is for a new song called “Glad To Be Alive,” in which he celebrates his new life.

In the Jamal Samuel-directed clip, Maino cruises the streets of New York in a Porsche, reminiscing about his life thus far … and how he feels grateful to be alive after all he’s been through.

The visual contains footage of him performing, hanging with young son, and even glimpses of him throughout his year.

The track is off Art of War mixtape, which is available now. He’s currently preparing a new tape with DJ Green Latern and DJ Infamous, titled I Am Who I Am. His next official album, Day After Tomorrow, is coming in November.
