Although he enjoyed commercial success with his summer single “Sun Come Up” and the Akon-assisted “Certified”, it has been a struggle for Watts rapper Glasses Malone. But, despite constant delays, his debut Beach Cruiser will finally drop August 30th.
While on a promo run for the upcoming release, Glasses stopped by the offices of Karmaloop to talk about his career thus far.
In the clip, the rapper tells Karmaloop how he feels now that his album is finally hitting stores; explains when he really began taking music seriously, after meeting Dr. Dre who told him he was dope; and how the deal with Cash Money happened.
After choosing Mack 10’s Hoo-Bangin Records … the west coast rap vet and Birdman were talking about music, and after listening to two of Glasses’ songs, the Cash Money Records founder wanted to be involved with his career, and the rest is history.
