Rising Compton rapper, Kendrick Lamar, has been doing his thing for a minute now … and finally got some shine earlier this year when XXL named him one of their 2011 Freshman Class.
Fresh off the release of his latest project, Section.80, the young rapper recently hooked up with famed Los Angeles-based photographer for an exclusive photoshoot for CNN, in his trademark-street style.
“I first shot Kendrick Lamar while shooting Jay Rock’s album cover in Knickerson Gardens in Watts,” says Estevan. “Louie Mejia from CNN is always on the lookout for the next latest greatest talent, we have here in LA. So I put him in touch with Kendrick through my good friend Richie Abbott.”
