Veteran rapper Tone Loc spent his Father’s Day Weekend behind bars, after he was arrested for domestic violence charge Saturday (June 19) afternoon.
According to TMZ.com, the rapper (real name: Anthony Terrell Smith) got into a heated argument with the mother of his child, which escalated into a physical altercation.
Details, however, were unknown at press time.
What we do know is that Tone was arrested around 2:45 p.m. at an apartment complex in Burbank, Calif. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail a few hours later.
Tone is currently being held on $50,000 — and, as of this posting, has yet to be released, said TMZ.
Tone Loc rose to fame in the 1980s, and is best known for his iconic hit singles, “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing.”
