Sean Kingston is quickly recovering from his widely reported Memorial Day jet ski crash in Miami last week.
The young star began to take his first steps in nearly a week on Monday (June 6), and is on his way to a speedy recovery, reports TMZ.
A rep for Kingston tells TMZ that “Sean is breathing on his own and walked for the first time this morning.”
However, he’ll continue to be hospitalized for the time being.
“Sean Kingston continues to be hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. His condition has been upgraded to serious,” said the rep.
The 21-year-old musician was critically injured in a jet ski crash over the Memorial Day Weekend in Miami, after he crashed into a bridge. His status was critical for some time, but has been stable. He reported suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist, and water in his lungs.
Kingston had been attached to a breathing tube, but apparently, he no longer needs it.
He’s received overwhelming support since the news broke, and his rep told TMZ that he “thanks his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes.”
