Despite model Amber Rose blasting them, calling her cover story “untrue and ridiculous,” Vibe magazine’s editor-in-chief has issued a statement is standing by reporter Tracy Garraud feature piece on Rose.
In a short statement, posted at Vibe.com and addressed the “VIBE reader,” editor Jermaine Hall says the long-running urban magazine is confident in the “accuracy” of the piece.
“As we’re sure you’ve heard, Amber Rose has expressed some displeasure with VIBE’s June/July cover story. VIBE stands by the accuracy and reporting of the narrative. We invite you to form your own opinion, however,” Hall said.
Over the weekend, Rose finally got a copy of her Vibe coverstory, and was angry by the finalized version.
In a series of tweets, she blasted the magazine, claiming they wrote “a bunch of negative bullsh**” about her, most of which she claims she never said.
“F##k that Cover F##K @VibeMagazine yall wrote a bunch of negative bullsh** that I never said or did,” Rose wrote (@DaRealAmberRose). “Yall don’t give a f*** that I have a Mom & Family that’s gonna read that fake ass sh** I gave yall a truthful interview & Yall f***ed me. I’m so sick of keeping my mouth shut I didn’t ask for this life it was handed to me I was nothing but nice to everyone I spoke to @ Vibe.”
According to the website, the mag quotes an anonymous source that explains some alleged diva behavior that pissed Kanye off so bad that he kicked Rose out of the recording sessions for his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album in Hawaii, and ended their relationship.
The quote is as follows:
The high-profile relationship took a turn in Hawaii during Kanye’s recording sessions for his cathartic fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. West Booked an entire Honolulu studio indefinitely for 24-hour slots while a cast of artists joined him for long days of business. Rose allegedly didn’t take to the all-work, no-play atmosphere. “In Hawaii [Amber] was being obnoxious in the studi like, ‘What the f***? I wanna f***ing eat,'” says an anonymous source. “Kanye got so mad because here he is trying to record and she keeps talking about, ‘Let’s go back to the house, I wanna fuck. We haven’t fucked in two days.’ I left the room for 10 minutes and when I came back he [told her], ‘Yo get the f*** up out of here!’ She left the room crying.
Whatever the case may be, the full story can be read on June 7, when Vibe’s June/July Sexy Issue hits newsstands.
