Before he took the stage at New Jersey’s Bamboozle festival on Friday (April 29), Wiz Khalifa sat down with MTV to clear up a few things, including his rumored run-in with Kanye West at last month’s Coachella Music Festival in California.
Last month, following the festival, rumors surfaced that the Pittsburgh rapper confronted Kanye West backstage after the Chicago rap star allegedly threw a jab at Wiz’s girlfriend Amber Rose while performing his smash hit, “Stronger.”
Wiz tells MTV that the incident was completely made up. In fact, he says he and Rose weren’t even there during West’s set.
“I did my set and we hung around for a bit, but we weren’t even there when fam was onstage,” Wiz revealed. “Somebody made that up. I think they just wanted it to be that type of situation or they wanted to see something go down. It’s fun to talk about it and make jokes about, but in all reality, that didn’t even exist.”
As MTV’s chat with Wiz continued, he went on to brush off any supposed beef with Kanye over his new flame, saying that he’s “all about positivity,” and above creating drama.
“It is what it is, and I’m doing my business and she’s doing her business and he’s doing his business and that’s what it is,” Wiz explained. “I’m all about positivity and I’m going to keep it that way.
“Rumors are crazy and people want things to happen and make it their real life and I guess that’s all I can really say about that,” Rose chimed in over Twitter (which has since been deleted), following the alleged confrontation.
