Less than four months since its initial launch, Flavor Flav is pulling his name from Flavor Flav’s Chicken (FFC) in Clinton, IA, claiming his business partner “mismanaged” the place and it — in turn — gave him “a bad reputation.”
According to TMZ, Flav had his attorney pull the license over the weekend. While the restaurant will likely remain open, Flav’s name can no longer be attached to it or used to promote it.
“I had a licensing agreement with Nick Cimino and that’s all we had. It was his business to run from there and the business was not run right,” Flav said.
Earlier this month, employees at the Iowa location claimed that their paychecks from FFC were bouncing. Both Flav and Cimino denied the allegations, calling them “disgruntled”.
However, Cimino did claim there was “a credit card glitch.”
That wasn’t the only problem the restaurant had. Flav, himself, said the food was a problem too.
“Let me be straight up with you, I went up inside there on April 2 and I found potato salad that expired on February 28,” Flav told TMZ. “And it’s then when I realized I can’t do business with this man and I really hope no one ate those potatoes.”
Despite the hiccups at the FFC flagship location in Iowa, Flav is moving on. Earlier this month, news spread that Flav was taking his restaurant to Las Vegas. Well, it’s a done deal now, but it will be called “Flavor Flav’s House of Flavor”.
It is set to open next month.
