While Kanye West’s closed out Coachella 2011 with a bang on Sunday (April 17), ending his set with a dedication to his mother, it’s rumored that he stirred up a little controversy when he modified a few bars on one of his tracks.
According to Zimbio, West exchanged words with Wiz Khalifa backstage at the concert, after the Chicago rapper took a subliminal shot at his ex, Amber Rose, during his headlining set.
The rumored incident began when Kanye modified lyrics from his hit “Stronger” to include the line, “I did anything for that blond dike / And she did anything when the time’s right,” which many believed to be aimed at Rose. However, she was in the crowd with her new boyfriend, Wiz Khalifa.
After West finished his performance, sources say Wiz confronted West about the lyrics, explaining, “Wiz didn’t want to fight, he just wanted all this catty bullsh** to end.”
But, things didn’t end calmly, and peace was not made.
“Kanye said something to Wiz and next thing you know security and people’s entourages were everywhere pushing and shoving,” the source said. “It could have got real ugly.”
‘Ye was carted away by security, said the source.
How true the story is? We don’t know. None of the parties — Wiz, Amber, and/or Kanye — have mentioned it, so it’s hard to believe it actually went down.
Wiz tweeted about Coachella on Monday, saying he had a great time. “coachella wuz amazing by tha way…shlda been called come out and get cloudy den a bitch day #hippiesh**,” the rapper wrote (@RealWizKhalifa).
