David Banner, Estelle Collaborate On Song For Mercedes-Benz

David BannerMississippi rapper/producer David Banner, Estelle and UK singer Daley recently collaborated together on a brand new song, and music video, exclusively for Mercedes-Benz.

Producing the track, Banner infused a modern day interpretation of the classic Janis Joplin track, “Mercedes Benz,” which he called “something special.”

“That’s why they call it soul music, you can’t put an equation to what we just did … when we first put it together and listened to it, it was something special,” said the southern hip-hop artist.

Mercedes-Benz, along with BLAG Magazine, will bring together Banner, Estelle and Daley for a debut performance of the song “Benz” in Shanghai, China on April 19th during the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show, the same day it drops on iTunes.

FOr Banner, this isn’t the first time a major corporation has enlisted his services. Gatorade tapped him to provide the soundtrack for their new campaign, “G Series: Evolve & Before/During/After,” which debuted during the 2010 NBA Finals.

Banner also continues to take his talents to the world of advertising, with recent works for Gillette and “Marvel Vs Capcom 3,” as well as motion pictures. He recently scored the lead dance sequence for the upcoming film, “Footloose”, and his music was featured in the DreamWorks animated movie, “MegaMind.”

Additionally, Banner continues to stay busy in his music career. He’s currently promoting his collaborative effort with producer 9th Wonder, titled Death Of A Pop Star, which is in stores now.
