Odd Future Gives Label Heads Crazy Demands Just To Meet With Them

Odd FutureLos Angeles’ OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All) collective, led by Tyler The Creator, has quickly become one of the most sought after acts in the music biz by major record labels.

Knowing the ball is in their court, the Odd Future kids are reportedly making music executive bow to their every request in order to gain their audience, no matter how odd each request may be.

According to a New York Post report, some label executives had to meet them at the Supreme skate shop in Fairfax, California to discuss business, while others were able to get them to come into their offices, but had to provide a few things.

For example, SRC Records founder Steve Rifkind got Odd Future to his offices, but only after adhering to Tyler The Creator’s demands. “If you are serious about the meeting, I want Randy’s Donuts, swivel chairs and a megaphone,” Tyler reportedly told Rifkind.

Even Diddy wasn’t exempt. The Bad Boy Records head reportedly had to set up a meeting between Justin Bieber and one of his biggest fans, Tyler. Still, the collective remains unsigned.

MTV reports that Tyler has signed a one-album deal with XL Recording, and MellowHype is having the album BlackendWhite formally released by Fat Possum Records.

Other plays trying to meeet with OFWGKTA include Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine, and Jay-Z who reportedly met with Odd Future back in February and left quite an impression.

“It was hard for me to look at Jay-Z for 10 minutes. Like, real sh**, this is the godfather of music,” MellowHype’s Hodgy Beats told MTV News. “I just shook his hand in his house. Honestly, it made me want to work harder. Jay-Z is amazing.”
