Nate Dogg’s Teenage Sons Say They Are Pursing Rap Careers

Nate Dogg's sonsLegendary west coast singer Nate Dogg passed away last month, but he left behind children, two of which want to follow in the famous father’s footsteps.

The late singer’s two sons, Naijiel (15) and Lil Nate (18), recently caught up with TMZ cameras, revealing that they will be pursuing careers in hip-hop.

“Yessir,” said Naijiel in response to the cameraman’s inquiry about recording music. “Try to do a little something here and there,” added Nate Jr.

Currently, the brothers are in the process of writing songs, but said they plan to work with established west coast artists like DJ Quik, The Game, and their “Uncle Snoop,” as they referred to Snoop Dogg as.

“Like father, like son, you know?” Lil Nate says.

As the interview continued and at the request of the cameraman, Little Nate spit a short freestyle, but admits that his dad has not heard any of his music.

“I don’t think he woulda liked it,” Nate explains, smiling. “He didn’t like me cussing too much.”

At press time, it’s unclear if the brothers planned to release any projects in the near future, whether it be a mixtape or official LP.

Nate Dogg (real name: Nathaniel D. Hale) passed away on March 15 due to complications from subsequent strokes in December 2007 and September 2008. He was just 41 years old.

The G-Funk pioneer was laid to rest at a public funeral at the Long Beach Cruise Terminal in California on March 26.
