Rick Ross continues to strengthen his Maybach Music Group artist roster, by signing new acts. His latest signee is former TVT Records singer Teedra Moses, who joins a roster that already boasts Triple C’s, Wale, Meek Mill, and Pill.
The news was revealed in a tweet to the followers of his label profile, @MaybachMusicGrp, but details regarding the deal were scarce.
“Everybody welcome @Teedramoses to the MMG Family!!! #SHESELFMADE,” the tweet read, referencing Maybach Music’s upcoming compilation album, Self Made, due on May 24.
It’s been seven years since Moses dropped her critically acclaimed debut, Complex Simplicity, way back in 2004. While she hasn’t released an album since, she has toured and performed regularly during her time away from the spotlight.
Moses’ next album will be titled The Lioness, said reports. However, at press time, a release date had not been issued.
The singer said that her and Ross linked up through Twitter, when she received a late night DM (Direct Message) from him, in which he inquired about her label status. From there, they quickly got into the studio — both live in Miami — and it eventually turned into a deal through his Maybach Music Warner-distributed imprint.
“I like the way they move and I like the hunger, and I like that it’s all about work,” Moses explained. “As much as Rick talks about the glitz and glamor or whatever, he goes hard and he works hard, so I rock with that. And that’s what I do. I work hard, I rock shows, I touch the people and I try to make good music. I’m not really into the hoopla.”
Teedra is on Twitter and can be followed @TeedraMoses.
