It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard any news about former Hot Boys member, Turk. He’s been incarcerated since the mid-2000s, and is currently finishing his time and awaiting release.
This week, news from the rapper’s camp was released, addressing rumors that said he’s close to signing with Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint upon release. That is false, said a rep.
Turk does have plans ready when he sees freedom, one being the start of his own label called YNT. However, he is also looking forward to reuniting with the rest of the Hot Boys for a planned reunion each member has been talking about since 2007.
“Turk will be released very soon and he has his own label, YNT,” Turk’s rep revealed. “He does look forward to a Hot Boy Reunion, but there is no truth in rumors of him signing at this time.”
The rapper is currently serving out a 12-year sentence for multiple weapons possession charges, as well as an attempted murder count stemming from a 2004 shooting involving a Tennessee police officer.
An estimated time of release was unknown at press time.
Turk is best known as a member of the Hot Boys, who as a group enjoyed several hits during the late 1990s. In addition to Turk, the group also consisted of Juvenile, B.G., and a young Lil Wayne. In 2001, the rapper enjoyed gold success with his solo debut, Young & Thuggin’, which cracked the Billboard 200, peaking at #9.
