Although B.o.B has shot to rap stardom over the past year, thanks to hits like his single “Airplanes,” the ATL rapper can spit, as proven by the countless mixtapes and leaked tracks that helped him build his buzz initially.
So, when Odd Future’s (OFWGKTA) Tyler The Creator threw a shot his way on the record, “Yonkers,” dissing not only B.o.B, but collaborators Hayley Williams and Bruno Mars, it was only right that he fire back.
On “Yonkers”, off his upcoming GOBLIN album, Tyler spits: “(What you think of Hayley Williams?) F*** her, Wolf Haley robbin’ ’em / I’ll crash that f***in’ airplane that that fa**ot n**** B.o.B is in / And stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus / And won’t stop until the cops come in.”
Bobby Ray had the Internet going nuts Friday, when he dropped “No Future,” which many agree to be a response to Tyler and his Odd Future collective, although he doesn’t mention him by name.
“You see this sh** I gotta deal with from these beginners? / I ain’t circusin’ around with these clown ass n****s / You snappin’ at the heels of a world-class sprinter,” the rapper spits, before later adding: “I’m way too high for you to look at / the future ain’t looking promising for these rookies / This is target practice, but I don’t even pull the trigger no more, because it’s just a waste of bullets.”
And finally, to end the 2 1/2 minute freestyle, B.o.B closes with: “Body blow, upper cut, I do more than bruise ya/ Keep f***in’ with me, you ain’t gon’ have no future.”
You know the boys from Odd Future pay attention, and Tyler heard the response hours later, and expressed his surprise at B.o.B’s aggression, calling the song “tight,” via Twitter.
“Whoa. I Don’t Think The ‘No Future’ Song Is Even A Diss. But, Ive Never Heard Him Spit Like That. Took Me By Surprise, Cus Its Tight,” Tyler said (@f***tyler).
Still, despite the compliment, Tyler is unapologetic of his comments about B.o.B’s smash hit, saying: “Still Hate That Airplanes Song Tho. It Has The Same Chord Progression As F***in’ ‘Love The Way You Lie’ And That One Song By Katy Perry. Actually, All The Music Now Days Have The Same Chord Progression, With That Dumbass Techno Synth, Or Like, Garage Band Drums.”
