Master P x Gucci Mane - Get Money movieMaster P (aka Percy Miller) and Gucci Mane announced this week that they will star in a film together called “Get Money,” later this year.

The film is a “dramatic and humorous film” that will examine the life of a “street hustler/philosopher experiencing a mid-life crisis,” a rep from P’s camp said.

P will play Monster, a southern street hustler who has a way with words and women; while Gucci will play the role of Big G, Monster’s buddy and partner-in-crime.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the film, sent over in a press release:

There’s no success without struggle. He’s 33 with kids and a good woman at his side that wants him to change his life. Monster has been chasing his music dreams for a while, but he feels like his opportunities are slim to none. Therefore, he continues to live the street life. His buddy Big G (played by Radric Davis, aka Gucci Mane) is his right hand partner in crime. Even though they get money together on the streets, Big G believes that they have real talent and street credibility that could get them out of the hood and into the hip-hop music business.

Distracted by poverty, they hit a lick worth $1 million from a rivalry gang. Meanwhile, Monster tries to balance his street life with his family life at home. His fiancé, Precious, constantly tries to convince him to get out of the game, but it seems like it’s no use because the streets keep calling him back in.

Monster and Big G find themselves in a deadly game, in which death hits close to home. They have a choice to make… the love for their family and their music, or the money and respect from the streets.

In addition to Master P and Gucci, the cast also includes: Megan Good, Michael Blackston, Meek Mill, AJ Johnson, Terry Miles, and No Limit rappers Miss Chee, Bengie, Gangsta, and OakTree.

The film will be executive produced by both Master P and Gucci Mane, and produced by No Limit Forever Films, in association with Gucci’s Brick Squad company.

Back in October 2010, Gucci Mane first revealed that he planned to hop into the movie biz with indie mogul Master P, explaining that previously released, straight-to-DVD hood classics like “I’m Bout It” and “I Got The Hook Up” inspired him to reach out to the once, predominant music mogul.

“I’ve always wanted to make a movie, something about my life, something about what I’ve seen,” Gucci said last year. “When I think of those hood classic films from the ’90s, I think of ‘I’m Bout It’ and ‘I Got The Hook Up’… So it just made sense for me to reach out to Master P to help me make my movie.”

“I just walked up to him and told him… That’s how I am,” the rapper explained.

“Get Money” and its soundtrack are set to drop in August.
