Lil Wayne is gearing up for another takeover. Since being released from prison late last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the superstar, and he delivered with his latest, Cory Gunz-assisted “6 Foot 7 Foot” single.
What’s next? Tha Carter IV, and it’s set to drop in May, Weezy told MTV at the start of his “I Am Music II” tour.
MTV’s Sway caught up with the rapper during the opening night of his tour in Rhode Island, and revealed the news.
“May 16, believe that,” Wayne said. “It can come out tomorrow ’cause I’m so finished … Tha Carter IV will be dropping May 16. If you’re not doing anything, do me.
“Tha Carter IV is done,” he continued. “All they need to do is tell [manager Cortez Bryant] to stop sitting on it. Tez, stop sitting on Tha Carter IV and put the album out.”
The final tracklisting has yet to be revealed, but it’s been previously reported that both Nicki Minaj and Drake have recorded guest verses, as they should.
There you have it. May 16th, Weezy is back.
