When XXL dropped their fourth annual Freshman cover, Compton rapper YG — known for his hit single, “Toot It and Boot It” — became a member of the newest class of young artists dubbed as the future. He was featured on the cover alongside the likes of Mac Miller, Lil B, Big K.R.I.T., Yelawolf and Kendrick Lamar, among others.
“This is a dream come true for me, I finally feel like I am now apart of history being on the cover of XXL,” YG said of the honor. “This year’s Freshman Class is swagged all the way out, the whole crew is turn’t up and together we cover the entire country with our fanbase. We all are gonna benefit off of each other and I’m fasho gonna represent the graduating class on the Weeeeeeeeeest.”
In celebration of the cover, the release of a new mixtape, and his birthday, the young rapper recently threw a big party at Colony nightclub in Hollywood. These are just a few photos from the event.
