Singer/songwriter Santigold recently got new management … and it comes in the form of Roc Nation, with whom she has inked a deal with to guide her career.
The Philly singer revealed the news in a recent tweet (@Santigold): “It’s official! Made the change to Roc Nation Management!!!”
Santigold has worked with Jay-Z in the past. She’s supported the mogul on a number of shows, and in 2008, appeared on a track with Jay called “Brooklyn Go Hard,” which appeared on the soundtrack for the Notorious motion picture.
She started off as a songwriter, then moved on to a rock band, before coming into her own as a solo artist. 2007 is when she made the switch from her birth name, Santi White, to Santogold and later, Santigold.
Her acclaimed solo self-titled debut in 2008. While she is focused on being a solo artist, Santi still continues to work as a songwriter, recently penning tunes for Lily Allen and Christina Aguilera.
Santigold joins a roster at Roc Nation that boasts Wale, J. Cole, Mark Ronson, Rihanna, Samantha Ronson, and Solange Knowles, among others.
