Lauryn Hill began making her return to music since last summer, and in 2011, she’s not slowing down. Following a series of tour dates over the winter, the former Fugees member recently announced that she’ll be kicking off the second leg of her comeback tour, “Moving Target: Extended Playdate Series,” with a 12-date trek around the U.S.
According to Rap-Up.com, the trek will take off on March 16 at Orlando’s House of Blues, stopping at Miami’s Jazz in the Garden Festival, the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, Los Angeles’ Club Nokia, and Atlanta’s Center Stage. Then, at the end, Hill will wrap things up with a May 7th show at New Orleans’ Jazz and Heritage Festival.
She says dates on the tour will be at smaller venues, to give fans a unique and more intimate experience.
“One of the benefits of playing venues smaller than the ones I’m used to, allows me the opportunity to not only reconnect with my supporters but to expose them to a portion of the musical journey I’ve been on which the world for the most part has not had access to,” she explain. “It’s an exciting and REAL process which these audiences will get to witness.”
In addition to the tour, Hill has finally joined Twitter, signing on as @MsHillMvngTrgt, where she’ll be providing news, highlights, and updates for the “Moving Target Series,” as well as a place for her to communicate directly with her fans.
